The Museum of Archaeology in Stavanger is one of five archaeological museums spread through Norway. The museum has a permanent exhibition area that covers about three hundred and fifty square metres. It contains finds relating to habitation and civilisation in the Rogaland region over the past eleven thousand years. The museum mounts temporary exhibitions and lays on special activities for children. It has a cafeteria and a souvenir shop.
