The Munch Museum lies in the attractive Tøyen park area, about a mile north of Oslo city centre. It is centred around the art of celebrated Danish painter Edvard Munch, who bequeathed his works to the city on his death in 1944. Munch is considered one of the pioneers of expressionism. His iconic work "The Scream" is possessed by the museum. The museum possesses paintings, sketches and prints. The exhibitions are frequently varied and changed. There is a cafe and shop here. Guided tours are conducted.
