Moldemarka is the wilderness mountainous area to the north of Molde. It provides excellent opportunities for walkers in the summer and skiers in the winter. There are several established hiking trails, some of which benefit from accompanying information boards. There are more than ten kilometres of ski trails, seven kilometres of which are lit in winter. There are many points from which you can enjoy fine views, including Varde (where there is a restaurant), Frænavarden and Valltua.
