Misvær is a little village about twenty miles to the south east of Bodø. The attractive, yet simple little church is symbolic of the unity of the local population. It was consecrated in 1912. The whitewashed church, with a small tower, is built of timber. It was made by local people. The altarpiece is painted by Ola Abrahamsen. The church continues to serve the local Lutheran population.
