The Marienlyst Sports Arena in Drammen lies in the heart of the riverside city, and is named after the country estate which it borders. It is an established green area that has been freed of all traffic in order to serve the recreational needs of visitors and residents. The park hosts football and handball stadiums. A large area provides an open air ice rink in winter. During the summer the main attraction for many is a large open air swimming pool, which is being developed into a modern outdoor water park.
