Lykling Gold Mines lie in the municipality of Bømlo, in Western Norway. They were the centre of a mid nineteenth century gold rush. When the activities of the mine peaked, in 1885, hundreds of men were employed here. Hundreds of kilos of gold were found here. Nowadays you can take a guided tour and learn about the magic and lure of gold, and the conditions in which the miners worked.
