The Louis Phillippe Room of Salten Museum is found to the southeast of Bodø city centre. The painted wall canvases, which were created in 1754 by the artist Gottfried Ezekiel once adorned the walls of the vicarage that stood on this site. The Rococo murals are the oldest pieces of their kind found in Norway. They are named after Louis Phillipe of Orleans, who stayed at the vicarage whie fleeing from the Revolution in 1794. He later became King of France when the monarchy was restored.
