Lillehammer Art Museum houses one of the most significant collections of Norwegian art from the nineteenth and twentieth century in the country. The museum was founded in 1994. The core of its collection is based on donations built up by two private collectors Oscar Johannessen and Einar Lunde. The permanent collection includes works by major artists such as J. C. Dahl and Edvard Munch. The museum hosts a range of temporary exhibitions showcasing contemporary art and craft work. The museum has a shop.
