Liatoppen Ski Centre lies just to the north of the village of Ål. It cross country and biathlon facilities approved for both national and international meetings. It lies nine hundred metres above sea level. There are nine kilometres of floodlit cross country tracks. These are prepared on a daily basis. There are also many other cross country trails in the area, although not all are prepared to the same exacting standards.
