Kvinnherad Church is one of the largest medieval stone churches in Western Norway. It is located in the heart of the municipal centre of Rosendal. The building dates from the thirteenth century. The architecture of the building reflects both the Romanesque and Gothic styles. For many centuries after the Reformation, the church was the property of the Rosendal barons, who controlled ecclesiastical appointments and have a family chapel here. Since 1910 it has been an ordinary parish church.
