Kunstnernes Hus lies in a central location in Oslo, on the edge of the park of the Royal Palace. Its name means "The Artists’ House". It is an independent art gallery owned and run by a cooperative of artists. The venue was opened in 1930. It has become firmly established as one of the city’s prime galleries for contemporary and modern art. Guided tours of the exhibitions are conducted on certain days. There is a cafeteria here that benefits from an alcohol licence.
