The silver mines lie just outside Kongsberg at Saggrenda. The guided tour includes a journey of over 2 kilometres via a miniature train that takes you to the heart of the "Kongens Gruve". In the mines you can see a demonstration of the nineteenth century personnel lift that brought the workers below ground. Special activities are laid on for children. The bottom of the mine is 1000 metres below the ground and 500 metres below sea level. In the old miners’ barracks you will find a cafe and souvenir shop.
