Kjerringøy is sited about fifty kilometres north of Bodø. Kjerringøy church was consecrated in 1883. Much of the interior furniture is older. Some of it dates back to the sixteenth century. A plaque on the wall dates back to the eighteenth century, and the collection plate was made in 1760. The altarpiece was painted in 1885 by Christian Bø. The church serves a congregation of Evangelical Lutherans.
