The King Olav Kyrre Sculpture lies in the heart of Bergen, by the lake that forms the centrepiece of the town park. The sculpture is located in front of the library. The modern stylise, piece, cast in metal was unveiled in 1992, and is the work of Knut Steen. Olav III Haraldsson Kyrre was king of Norway during the eleventh century. The medieval monarch was the founder of Bergen around the year 1070.
