Jazzguten is a sculpture that stands in the heart of the Norwegian fjord town of Molde. Sited in the market place, with the fjord and mountains acting as a backdrop, Jazzguten depicts a young saxophonist playing his instrument. The subject matter refers to Molde’s annual jazz festival and its reputation as Norwegian jazz capital. The sculpture is cast in bronze. It was created by Nine Due. The piece was unveiled in 1992 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the city’s foundation.
