Iveland Church is located in countryside to the north of Kristiansand and Lillesand and to the west of Birkenes. The church lies in the settlement of Birketveit. The church is built in a cruciform shape. It was completed in 1836. As is typical of many churches in the reason, the main building material is wood. It is whitewashed and has a tower with a spire. The oldest of the church’s bells was cast in the seventeenth century in the Danish town of Helsingør (or Elsinore).
