Hospital Church

The Hospital Church lies in the heart of Trondheim, on Kongens gate, near the site of the old hospital. The pretty church was erected at the beginning of the eighteenth century and is of timber. It was built to serve the hospital, which was founded in medieval times and has since served as a poor house and home for old people. Outside the church you can see the public pillories where petty criminals were publicly humiliated. In the area around the church are several attractive and well preserved wooden houses.
