Horten Church lies on the peninsular of Karljohansvern, near to the historic naval base and the museums. The church was built in 1855. It was designed by the architect L. H. Grosch. The renowned artist Harald Kihle painted the interior in 1925. The church is built in the longhouse style and is known for its dramatic neo Gothic spire, which dominates the local horizon. It serves a Lutheran parish.
