Hestadgrend is a popular bathing spot during the summer months. It is located in Gaular municipality, a few miles to the south and west of Førde. There is a sandy beach on the edge of the Hestadfjørd. The beach is set in beautiful scenery, just by the historic Hestad Chapel, built by local people from the remains of a stave church. It is a popular place for families with small children and can get quite busy during the long, bright days of summer.
