Hestad Chapel lies on the banks of the Hestadfjord, which is in the rural Gaular municipality to the south of Førde. The chapel seats just sixty and was built of wood in 1805 by local people from materials salvaged from a medieval stave church. It contains an altarpiece thought to have been decorated by Kristian Kjelstad. The church contains medieval wood carvings retained from the older building.
