The Henrik Ibsen Museum in Grimstad is the oldest and largest museum in Norway dedicated to the world-famous playwright. It was established in 1916. Ibsen spent six formative years in the town. You can see the pharmacy where Ibsen was apprenticed and the living quarters where he slept and wrote his first verse play. New exhibitions explore the biographical significance of his time in Grimstad, where he took the first steps towards manhood and maturity.
