Haukedalen Church lies in the centre of a village about twenty miles to the east of Førde. The charming small church, which seats about 120, was completed in 1885 and was the work of master builder Gjert Lien. It is built on the site of a medieval church, and some of the inventory is older than the building itself. This includes the altarpiece, made in 1692 which depicts Christ on the cross. The church also possesses a chalice inscribed with the date 1754
