Harstad Trotting Park lies about five kilometres to the west of the North Norwegian town. It is set in a delightful area of thick conferous woodland. It hosts a full programme of trotting events. Trotting is a sport that is particularly popular in the Low Countries and Scandinavia where the "jockeys" are pulled in small carriages. It also hosts other sporting events and other types of horse racing.
