Hardangervidda Nature Centre lies in Øvre Eidfjord, on the edge of the national park. Housed in a purpose built modern building, the centre explores the interaction of natural and human history in this area. It is designed to appeal to the whole family, and includes a panoramic cinema presentation. There is a large collection of stuffed animals and birds of all shapes and sizes, arranged in informative and attractive exhibitions. The centre has a restuarant. It can also supply tourist information for the area.
