The Hanseatic Assembly Rooms lie in the hear of historic Bergen, near to the oldest intact building in the city, Mariakirken. They are part of the complex of wooden buildings where the Hanseatic traders lived and traded which are recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The rooms provided a meeting place for the Hanseatic traders, who would use them as a venue for dining and decision making. They provide a valuable and fascinating insight into the commercial world of the past.
