The Geopark is located at Kjeringholmen on the quayside in central Stavanger. It is a colourful and innovative play and recreation area that is used for a variety of activities including skating, climbing, beach volleyball, concerts and dance events. The park is created through technology and objects connected with the oil industry, which is central to the economy and prosperity of the city. The park was designed by architects Helen and Hard in consultation with the Norwegian Petroleum Museum and local youth groups.
