The old centre of the fjord village of Lærdalsøyri is well worth a visit. It contains many well preserved wooden houses constructed in the eighteenth century. You will find crafts, antiques and souvenirs on sale here. There is a cafeteria and an exhibition on the old village in the tourist office. A popular annual summer fair is held. You will also find an outdoor theatre and an art gallery here.
