The Four Arcs is a striking modern sculpture that lies in the attractive city park of Bergen. Unveiled in 2000, it is the work of Bernar Venet. The sculpture is abstract and is made up of arcs in different colours. The piece is in honour of the memory of Harald Sæverud, the great Norwegian composer who was born in Bergen and spent most of his life in the area. Sæverud is known for his romantic compositions that contain many pastoral and classical references.
