The Folgefonna Summer Ski Centre is situated nineteen kilometres to the east of the ferry quay at Jondal. It is sited twelve hundred metres above sea level. It is used as a training camp by several national winter sports teams. The conditions are excellent for cross country skiing and there are marked tracks taking you to the summit of the glacier, more than 1600m above sea level. There are also well prepared slopes for Alpine skiing and snowboarding. There is a cafeteria here. Ski equipment is available for hire. Guided trips on the glacier are available.
