Folgefonna National Park was the twenty fifth to be declared in Norway. It is cetred around the third largest glacier in Norway, Folgefonna. The summit of the glacier is more than 1600 metres above sea level. There are walking trails from both Sundal and Odda. It takes between four and six hours to reach the summit from either. There are daily guided tours between the mountain huts of Fonnabu and Holmaskjær during the summer months. There is an information centre for the park in Rosendal.
