Fetsund Timber Floating Museum is listed as a national monument. Located to the north of Oslo, it is set in beautiful scenery on the banks of the Glomma river, by the nature reserve of Nordre Øyeren. At this living museum you can learn about the business of sorting timber on the floating boom, a business that carried on here until as recently as 1985. More than twenty six buildings and boats are preserved here. This is a special exhibition on the natural history of the area. The museum has a cafe whose speciality food is fish cakes made from pike.
