The great composer Edvard Grieg is one of the most famous sons of fjord Norway. He often used to retreat to this little cabin during retreats to Lofthus, inspired by the extraordinarily beautiful natural surroundings. Some of his most famous compositions were inspired by this place, including the "Peer Gynt Suite". The cabin is sited in the grounds of the Hotel Ullensvang and is open to the public.
