Drammen Theatre was originally built in 1870, and was rebuilt after a fire in 1993. The reconstruction has received a European Nostra award for its examplary recreation of the original building. The theatre has two stages, a concert hall and a foyer used for exhibitions. The beautiful interior features chandliers, ornate pillars and red velvet seats, all created by skilled craftsmen from Norway and overseas. The theatre stages plays, concerts and civic events. It has a cafeteria.
