Drammen Race Course is sited about five kilometres to the west of Drammen city centre. It is an established venue which was opened in 1955. There are forty-one race days per year. These are usually Mondays, and include the popular Whit Monday meeting. There are occasional Saturday meetings. The races are universally well attended. The course hosts "trotting" races, a style of horse racing particularly beloved of the Low and Nordic countries.
