Drammen Museum lies in the heart of the city. It is housed in a beautiful eighteenth century building, Marienlyst. It contains thousands of artefacts related to the rich history of the city and the surrounding county. Drammen Museum contains a large number of pictures and models of sailing ships. It also contains excellent collections of antique Norwegian furniture, silverware and glass. The Lyche Pavilion hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. There is a cafe and museum shop.
