Dokken Open Air Museum is located just five minutes from the town centre on the little island of Hasseløy, which is linked by bridge to the mainland. It is an authentic recreation of historic Haugesund. It contains themed exhibitions that enable the visitor to learn more about the living and working conditions in the town during its heyday as a centre of herring fishing during the nineteenth century. You may also see a selection of working boats from the region. Guided tours are conducted during the high summer season.
