Bærums Verk Oven Museum lies to the nortwest of Oslo City Centre. It is part of an area that once formed the largest industry in Norway, the Bærums Verk Ironworks. This was established by Christian IV of Denmark and Norway, who aimed to make his dominion self sufficient in iron production. The Oven Museum holds an interesting collection of elaborate and attractive ovens manufactured here over the years, ranging from Baroque eighteenth century designs to the last products made in the 1960s.
