Broken Column is an innovative public art project created by the renowned sculptor Anthony Gormley that consists of a number of identical works placed in a broken line through the city and into the harbour. The works are life size iron casts of the artist’s own body. The first of the twenty three sculptures stands forty one metres above sea level in Rogaland Museum of Fine Arts. Each succeeding figure is placed closer to sea level. The final figure is almost completely submerged in the harbour.
