Brevik Town Museum lies in the delightful little town of Brevik, in Porsgrunn municipality. The town has some of the best preserved wooden architecture in the region. The museum is housed in the old Town Hall, once a merchant’s estate, which dates from the middle of the eighteenth century. The permanent displays include a traditional grocery store, an old post office, a chemist’s shop, and a special exhibition on the locality during World War II. There is a shop.
