Borgestad Church was a personal gift to the community from the Prime Minister of Norway Gunnar Knutsen and his wife. The church is built in stone and is reminiscent of English country churches, on which it is modeled. The architect was Henrik Nilsen. The church is noted for its fine stained glass windows, created by famous artist Emanuel Vigeland. These windows, from 1919, illustrate Biblical themes.
