Blaker Skanse is located in the countryside to the north of Oslo and south of Oslo airport. It is not far from Lillestrøm, and is in Sørum municipality. The grand house was once a fortress, and became state owned in 1917. Nowadays, it is used as a cultural centre that hosts a wide range of events and activities, including Blaker Skansespillet, a hisorical play performed in the grounds.
