Bøkkerfjellet lies in the heart of the historic southern Norwegian coastal town of Larvik. Its name indicates that it is a substantial hill, indeed it indicates "mountain" in Norwegian. There was once a lookout post here from which fire watchers kept an eye on events in the city. It remains a popular place for sightseers to come for views of the city, harbour and surrounding countryside.
