Bergen Cathedral lies near to the centre of the city, not far from the historic harbour area. The cathedral has developed over time and is in a blend or architectural styles. The oldest parts of the cathedral are the choir and the lower portion of the tower. These are from the thirteenth century and are early Gothic in style. The cathedral is a popular venue for classical concerts and organ recitals. Services are held in English as well as Norwegian.
