The Beech Wood lies just to the north of the city centre of Larvik. It is a large area of natural beauty. It is the largest public recreation area consisting of beech trees in Norway. It is a great place for visitors to the south of Norway to get in touch with nature and observe some of the flora and fauna that is native to the area. There are many historical monuments here, including some dating back to Viking times.
