The Rock Carvings at Bardal lies about fifteen kilometres drive to the east of Steinkjer. The site is unusual in containing carvings from both the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. There are about four hundred carvings here, of which about sixty are figures connected with hunting from the Stone Age. The depictions are of humans, animals and boats. There are also symbols and geometric shapes.
