Bø New Church lies near to the centre of the Telemark town. It was built during the last great religious revival in Northern Europe, during the mid nineteenth century. Expanding population created a demand for a much larger building than the little medieval structure that had previously served the settlement. The new church is an imposing structure with a tower in neo Gothic style. It seats more than seven hundred. It has a fine modern organ. It serves a Lutheran congregation.
