The Arctic Cathedral stands in Tromsdalen, just across the water from the harbourside of Tromsø. It is a stunning landmark and is one of the most recognisable buildings in Norway. The modern masterpiece was created in 1965 by Jan Inge Hovig. It contains a monumental stained glass window. Guided tours are available for tourists. The cathedral is a popular venue for concerts, including the midnight sun performances in high summer, and regular organ recitals.
