The Arboretum and Botanical Garden lies a few kilometres to the south of the city of Bergen. It is part of the University Museum of Natural History. It was founded in 1971 and covers a total area of 125 acres. It contains many different species of foreign trees and plants. The gardens are at their most attractive in late spring when the rhodedendrons blooom and in high summer when the roses are at their best. There are walking and bathing opportunities in the area.
