Ammestua lies to the west of Levanger town centre. The house was built of timber in the eighteenth century. It is beautifully preserved and stands in an idyllic location by Trondheim fjord. It is believed to be the best preserved building from this period in the whole of the North Trøndelag region. It was once used as a waiting room for families about to have a child christened.
