The Akerselva river flows down from Maridalsvannet, the lake in the mountains above Oslo, and winds an eight kilometre trail into the centre of Oslo. Walkers and cyclists enjoy following the varied route which offers plenty to stimulate. You pass through woodland and grassed areas. There are fine opportunities for anglers along the banks. During the summer there are points along the route that are used for bathing. There are several waterfalls along the route.
